Crack climbing is quite rare in Europe. Yosemite or Utah is the true crack climbers’ paradise. On the other hand, there is a valley in Europe that is nicknamed the European Yosemite, and that is Valle dell’Orco in Piedmont, Italy.

The film Gran Paradiso is about respect for the generation of climbers from the 1970s, when the “new dawn” movement emerged in Italy’s Valle di Orco. We meet a legend of the local scene, Andrea Giorda, who charms us with his charisma and true mountaineer’s spirit. Let him be our guide to this beautiful place.
